Poetry by Alex Vigue

Fountain

red 40 lapping bowl, the single serving that’s supposed to last you all day

switchboard crossed satisfaction

it’s only good if you drink it all!

have another

drink it all!

yellow 6 jaundice

the yellow of a swollen organ

the yellow of pus & maggot

it’s gross ain’t it? but it looks so pretty in a plastic bottle

with a glossy label

blue 1 blues

            no that’s too easy

blue 1 blue balls

blue 1 mt dew voltage            geographic tongue                  teeth grinding good

blue 1 “blue period”

Femme assise!

I’m Pablo Picasso & I’m painting sad women!

Fuck Picasso! I would though. Cubist twink.

caramel color, caramel IV, ammonia sulfite process caramel

burnt sugar quivering

we made brown rivers beautiful

retrained our brains to not fear standing water

sold bubbles to keep it flowing, to trick safe

shining effervescence! eating away at the lining of your stomach, at the whites of your teeth

macerated chemical nectar sweeter than any honey, an obsolescence of bees

sing with jealousy

Jumper

Body dropping, turquoise

from steel girders,

feet, niveous & hard-cold,

miles of mourning

river, dead

Honda abandoned America

Scio seer,

chromomancy, gold wave fins,

white caps, cornea,

body striped with

heavy clothing/ river foam

Liquefaction

Sink plug esophagus whirring sepia

water silver, septic      life giver

plunging the beer from my stomach,

breaths move from labored to backfired

tail pipe to pressurized implosions,

lungs, pretending to be mantis shrimp

striking bodies that swim by unconscious.

Make me float, upwell enough to

travel the time it takes for grief to

be manageable, beach me in 30 years

in the acorn of my progenial memory,

a seed to suck all of this drowning

out of my tummy. Out of my swollen

heart. Out of my ochre eyes.

Phallales/ Dick Cheese

Middle bits

clove nut

garlic phallus fruit

what an ugly little trunk

what a mutilated jerk

wronged bell, tortured cumquat

sex nose broken and septum impotent

exacerbated conquistador

lost in tangled topiaries

fronless palm blessing,

handjob hero

second runner up for best orgasm

engine 30,000 years in a row

dirty gourd, musk mold

plum warm, peach eater

boneless monument

germy rake

with enough lube man would

fuck the dirt at least once,

seeds are best sewn pecker deep

Bismuth

Wipe up heavy salt circles

with makeup remover

do me up with nacre

powders

pick a brush and dust off the

puddles I was drowned in

push wax, silicon, rocks

through needles into my skin

fat body with horns covered

in ash, smokey quartz, smokey eye

murders never solved

paint sold with my face

surface, rainbowed oil slick

paint the crosswalk

pour gasoline

I was never pretty enough to love

but I’m flammable enough

to keep your hands warm
