BECOME A LUNA LUNA VOLUNTEER EDITOR

As Luna Luna moves into its 4th year, we are seeking volunteers for the several roles. All roles, including those currently on staff, are 100% volunteer (and all but one are remote) and can be molded to fit the candidate's availability (obviously this isn't paid and we're 100% willing to work with you), experience and goals. We love you! If you have a little extra time and want to be part of the community, this may be right for you. We want to make this fun and rewarding! But please remember that this is a coven. So bring the magic.

We strongly encourage people of color, people with disabilities, and LGBTQIA candidates to apply. Luna Luna is an intersectional feminist magazine; we welcome all voices and male applicants.

No deadline, but preference given to those who apply by OCT. 31, 2016 Candidates can start when ready.

For the sake of complete transparency: As an editor, you may reach out to, for example, publishing houses for copies of books or to PR folks for free entry to events. Additionally, we're happy to promote your projects, books, websites, fundraisers via our social channels. We understand this isn't ideal, but that's what we can offer at this time. Our editors work 1-4 hours per week. We can cater to you!


BEAUTY & FASHION EDITOR / CURATOR (REMOTE/VOLUNTEER)

Luna Luna is seeking a beauty & fashion (can be both or only one focus) editor who can write 1 piece work per week (round-up, item feature, tutorial, I-tried-this videos, etc). This editor should understand the nuance of Luna Luna brand. We love interesting, indie, ethical brands and gorgeous products. We want someone with a real vision who *gets* us. MUSIC EDITOR / CURATOR (REMOTE/VOLUNTEER)

Luna Luna is seeking a poetry editor who can curate 1 poets' work per week. The poetry editor should have a passion for poetry and experience in curation. They must also be in line with Luna Luna's dedication to diversity, craft and nuance. ASSOCIATE EDITOR (REMOTE/VOLUNTEER)

Luna Luna is seeking an associate editor who is immersed in the digital media world, knows how to edit and use a CMS, has published online, understands our aesthetic and focuses (sex, feminism, literature, occult) and wants to be part of a team that is growing. Email a cover letter indicating your experience (and your favorite article online – from anywhere) to editor@lunalunamagazine.com. {

This role is really strategic – it's about working with us to build the brand, and it's very dependent on your creativity! 

  • Most important: Be the point-person for cross-posted content (find mags to cross-post or partner with). We'd like to cross-post one piece per week, which you will secure from another site with permission. 
  • Be an ambassador/promoter for the brand (post about us on message boards, find new readers, etc)
  • Come up with ideas for outreach and growth (seek interviews with magazines, find opportunities to promote us)

NYC EDITOR (NYC-BASED/VOLUNTEER)

Luna Luna is seeking a NYC editor who lives in NYC, is immersed in the digital media world, knows how to edit and use a CMS, has published online, understands our aesthetic and focuses (sex, feminism, literature, occult) and wants to be part of a team that is growing. Email a cover letter indicating your experience (and your favorite NYC haunts) to editor@lunalunamagazine.com.

The NY editor will be responsible for:

  • Finding NYC events, markets, festivals, poetry readings, conferences for us to attend, speak at, etc.
  • Help book readings and events in NYC
  • Write one short or long NYC-focused piece per week (NYC poetry reading, NYC sex show, boutique in Brooklyn review, etc)
  • Post to Instagram re: our NYC life as an NYC-based magazine twice per week.

SPANISH LANGUAGE POETRY EDITOR (REMOTE/VOLUNTEER)

Luna Luna is seeking a poetry editor who can curate 2 Spanish language poems per month. The editor may also feel free to find translated work and provide the English and Spanish versions. The Spanish language poetry editor should have a passion for poetry and experience in curation. They must also be in line with Luna Luna's dedication to diversity, craft and nuance. SOCIAL MEDIA EDITOR (REMOTE/VOLUNTEER)

Luna Luna is seeking a Social Media Editor who is FULLY immersed in the digital media and social media world, has connections to other brands, is a social media LOVER, understands our aesthetic and focuses (sex, feminism, literature, occult) and wants to be part of a team that is growing. Email a cover letter indicating your experience (and some social media channels you love) to editor@lunalunamagazine.com.

  • Post to Facebook, Instagram and Twitter 1x daily & respond to audience. 
  • Host webinars, Facebook live poetry readings for Luna Luna or host Twitter chat 1x /month
