It can be hard to know where to start when you first start researching the Tarot, but here are some useful guides that have helped me along the way. While these are definitely not nearly all the research you should do, it's a start:
1. Alejandro Jodorowsky's book "The Way of Tarot" is a must read, especially as he deals with numerology and the Marseilles deck. It should be your bible. If you want to know what each card means, he explains them in fascinating ways.
2. Watch this documentary called "Strictly Supernatural," which was narrated by Christopher Lee.
3. Don't be afraid to use the internet as a tool, just be an educated reader. Psychic Revelation is a useful tool for card meanings, while Free Divination discusses card spreads and their meanings, and Biddy Tarot is a great overall resource. I've written about how to use a Tarot deck to help you understand what you want more at The Berry.
